Blood Drip Cupcakes (Time: 1 hour 50 minutes)

Blood drip cupcakes are the perfect foods to spice up the evening. No wonder we put them on our sexiest Halloween party foods list. Look at them!

blood drip cupcakes

INGREDIENTS

Cupcakes

1 1/4 c. flour (all-purpose)

1/2 c. cocoa powder (unsweetened)

1/4 c. malt powder

1 3/4 c. sugar

1 tsp. coffee (instant)

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. kosher salt

2 large eggs

1 c. buttermilk

2/3 c. unsalted butter (melted)

2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

2 c. buttercream frosting

Glass Candy

1/2 c. light corn syrup

3 c. sugar

1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

1 1/2 c. water

Red food coloring gel

DIRECTIONS

First, preheat the oven to 350°. Then, fill the cupcake pan with liners and set it aside.

Take a large bowl and a hand mixer or a bowl of a stand mixer with the whisk attachment and mix flour, cocoa, malt powder, sugar, coffee, baking soda and powder, and salt. Add in the eggs, buttermilk, butter, and vanilla. Beat on medium until it’s well combined (about 2 minutes.) Pour in 3/4 cup boiling water and beat until it’s well combined.

Next, to make the cupcakes, you need to fill cupcake liners until each cup is two-thirds full, then bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 18 to 22 minutes. Remove it from the oven and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.

To make the glass candy, you need to line a baking sheet with foil. Then, place all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and stir until the mixture begins to boil. Stop boiling and clip a candy thermometer to a side of the pan. Use a brush and water to wash down any crystals. Bring mixture to 300°, then pour hot candy mixture onto prepared pan. Set it aside for at least 1 hour, then break apart candy into shards.

Last, to assemble, pipe frosting onto cupcakes and insert candy glass into the center. Pipe red gel onto cupcakes for a blood drip finish.

Poison Apples (Time: 30 minutes)

There's something magical and mysterious about poison apples that we had to include them on our sexiest Halloween party foods list.

poison apples

INGREDIENTS

10 small apples

10 long sticks

1 3/4 c. sugar (granulated)

1/2 c. light corn syrup

3/4 c. water

1/2 tsp. purple gel food coloring

1/4 tsp. black gel food coloring

DIRECTIONS

First, insert wooden sticks into the center of each apple and set them aside.

Then, line a large baking sheet with parchment and grease with butter or cooking spray.

Take a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Next, put in gel food coloring and turn heat to medium-high. Bring the mixture to a boil and constantly stir until sugar dissolves. Then lower the heat to medium and let it boil, without stirring, until it nears about 290° with a candy thermometer (close to the hard-crack mark stage.) Remove it from heat.

Last, tilt the pan and dip the apples in the mixture, twirling the apple through the candy to coat evenly. Hold the apple over the mix for few seconds before placing it on the greased baking sheet. Repeat this step with remaining apples. Let it cool completely.

Mummy Meatballs (Time: 30 minutes)

What's not to like about mummies? Here are some mummy meatballs to amuse your tastebuds.

mummy meatballs

INGREDIENTS

1  lb. ground beef

1/4 c. minced onion

1/4 c. panko breadcrumbs

2 cloves garlic (minced)

2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

1 large egg

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

1 8-oz. tube Pillsbury crescent roll sheet

2 tablespoons melted butter

16-20 edible eyeballs

DIRECTIONS

First, preheat oven to 400°. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment.

Next, combine beef, onion, panko, garlic, parsley, and egg into a large bowl. Season the mixture generously with salt and pepper. Mix ingredients together with a wooden spoon until they’re well combined, then shape into 8 to 10 1” balls. Place them onto the baking sheet and set them aside.

Then slice crescent sheet in half widthwise, and then into long, thin strips. Then wrap a piece of dough around meatballs to resemble a mummy. Leave space to make eyes later on.

Bake until meatballs are cooked through and the dough is golden; about 15 minutes. Cover sheet with foil if the dough starts to get too dark.

Last, brush with melted butter and add the edible eyeballs.

Halloween Jell-O Shots (Time: 40 minutes)

The fourth on our sexiest Halloween party foods list are Halloween Jell-o shots. Cheer up your partner with this wobbly alcoholic candy.

Halloween Jell-o shots

INGREDIENTS

Baking spray (non-stick)

6 packets unflavored gelatin

1 3-oz. grape Jell-o packet

1 3-oz. peach Jell-o packet

1 3-oz. melon Jell-o packet

2 1/2 c. vodka, divided

1 14-oz. can condensed milk (sweetened)

DIRECTIONS

First, lightly coat a mini muffin pan with non-stick spray and wipe off the excess. Transfer the pan to the freezer.

Next, pour 2 1/2 cups water into a 9" pie pan; sprinkle unflavored gelatin on top and allow to bloom, 3 to 4 minutes. Pour bloomed mixture into a saucepan and warm over low heat. Then, stir the mixture constantly until gelatin dissolves (mixture should be syrupy); set it aside.

Prepare grape, peach, and melon Jell-o according to “fast set” instructions in three separate bowls. Spike each one with 3/4 cup vodka and stir well.

Pour sweetened condensed milk into a medium bowl, then add 1 cup gelatin mixture.

Measure out 1 1/2 cups and add 1/2 cup to the grape, peach, and melon Jell-o mixtures from the remaining gelatin mixture and stir to combine.

Next, remove the chilled pan from the freezer. Measure and pour out 1 teaspoon or 1 tablespoon of grape, peach, or melon Jell-o into wells (1 teaspoon if using a mini muffin pan and 1 tablespoon for a regular muffin pan).

Transfer to the freezer to set for 3 minutes. Remove the pan from the freezer and add 1 teaspoon or 1 tablespoon sweetened the condensed milk-gelatin mixture, then transfer back to the freezer to set for 3 minutes. Remove the pan from the freezer and repeat layers until wells are filled.

To remove, gently press a finger into Jell-o shots and pull it toward the center away from the walls. Last, use a finger to leverage out the Jell-o shot.
